Duplicate songs: did you notice?

Anton, I would say that Tierrita by D'Arienzo and by Donato are two rather different songs - for example, Donato's is an instrumental while D'Arienzo's is sung. I probably wouldn't be much bothered even if they were played in consecutive tandas in an evening, and would never have recognized them as being "repeated songs" since they are so dissimilar. I can't say how similar the two El Once songs you mention are, as I don't have the Garcia version.
But nonetheless, thanks for seeking to keep us on our toes.
-Tim

Several people talked to me about it, but no one noticed :-)

Here are the songs:

Monday: Tierrita by D'Arienzo/Maure and by Edgardo Donato
Thursday: El Once by Carlos Di Sarli (1951 version) and by Jose Garcia.

As you probably know, many popular tango songs were recorded by different orchestras. For example, both Biagi and Di Sarli versions of "El Recordo" are very popular at the milongas. When I DJ, I usually try not to repeat a song if I played a different version of it earlier, especially during a short milonga/practica. But if I do not pay enough attention, stuff happens. One night I accidentally played "La Gran Muneca" by Di Sarli, Biagi and Lomuto all in the same night.

So anyway, has anyone noticed repeated songs on Monday and on Thursday?

A double bonus if you can name the two songs :-).
I will post names of the songs later unless someone else will post the correct answer.

On Monday, the first version was played around 10pm, the second around 11:15pm.
Yesterday it was around 10pm and 11:30pm.

I am curious if dancers pay attention to these things. It also depends on how similar the versions are. I think on Monday it was more difficult to notice, but yesterday the two versions were very recognizeable.

Cheers,
Anton
